We get asked a lot about allergens, not as much about the toxins, but increasingly we are aware of the concerns addressed in this article. We prefer not to use precious metals, but we do use safe alternatives. We use a lot of anodized aluminum, which we love for the color, durability, and lightness. We are very careful in our clasp and earring selection to avoid anything with nickel in it, since so many people have allergies to that. And we never buy our rings from China, preferring instead two suppliers, one in the US and the other in Canada who make great rings we can weave our colorful designs from. So this Holiday season, shop secure with us knowing that you won't be bothered by our jewelry - wear in comfort and beauty!

Save the Ta-ta's!
If you look at our Etsy shop, or the Facebook fan page, you will have seen the bracelets we have been making for Breast Cancer Awareness. There is a story behind this... well, two stories, really. Both Michael's mother and Cedar's grandmother have been touched by breast cancer. We were blessed that both of them were spared, but we know that it might have turned out differently. And we would miss them more than words had we lost them...
Michael has a habit of asking everyone he meets about their jewelry, what it means to them, how they like it, where they found it... And the unanimous opinion of the pink jelly bracelet wearers was that they wanted to support the cause, but wished there were a more... grown-up way of doing so. And thus the "Save the Ta-Ta's!" line of chainmaille was born. For each piece we sell, $5 will go to support research for a cure. And the lucky ladies who will wear the pink bracelets with verve will finally have jewelry that not only means something, but is as beautiful as they are.

Art, Jewelry, and Photography
I just like these pictures, and I hope you do, too! The copper bracelet was resting on a stone wall, where the lichens echo the color of old copper... a color this bracelet will never be, as it has been specially treated not to corrode. The simple Autumn Colors bracelet rests on moss and reindeer lichen. And the blue and silver bracelet embraces a slender paper birch at Stonycroft. In the future, I hope to take all the pieces outside and take their pictures au naturel... we like to think of them as beautiful as the trees and plants around us.
We are adding E-Bay to the ways you can get a piece of our jewelry!

Check it out, there will only be a few pieces up at a time, and keep in mind that our work is often one-of-a-kind, as we tend to add vintage pieces in to the chain mail pieces, and both of us make up designs as we go, using materials that catch our eye... as we hope the finished art catches your eye!
